Why you want to become “Power User”?

…if you want to use Digg only for your benefit, just stop reading! Digg is Social Network which is for sharing interesting information, not for spamming!

Digg Power User

Some people just don’t know what to do to be in top 10, 100 or just 1000 of the most famous diggers.

Most of diggers and mostly newbies just make an account and start with submitting their spam, scam, porn, etc websites. They are submitting a few articles from their sites a day and only from their websites.

What that means ?

That mean that they will never have popular story and a lot of diggs and in most cases they will be banned and maybe their websites.

Here i will give you a few advices and a few useful links which will help you to become a little bit better than before. And believe me - if you read this article and understand it, and start using your brain your “dreams” will become true - you will have popular stories, more diggs and comments on your stories, and maybe you will find a lot of new friends and fun in Digg.com :)

So, when your account is ready you should start doing the following things:

  • add picture, contact details, etc
  • find interesting articles(they should be new, don’t search for articles posted before years, months!), DIGG and COMMENT them, UPVOTE the comments you like, and after that add the submitter
  • that’s not all! you should comment and digg a little, before start adding friends!
  • you should submit an interesting story(or more than one!, but not in same time)

When you have at least 10-20 comments, a hundred diggs, you can start adding friends. Don’t add everyone and a lot of people in same time! Find people who like the same things like you or just people who submit interesting stories and digg friends stories.

I hate to see people who have 10 digg, 10 comment, 10 submission and thats are only his own submissions! I will never add people like them, or people who have added me and 100 more people in same time… And don’t forget - i am like all other diggers, so don’t do these things!

Now you know the main things which you SHOULD do and DON’T do.

Now it’s time to visit a few websites which are really useful and can give us the information which we need to make our stories popular

1. The first site is Di66.net
This site is really useful, because thanks to it you can understand what kind of stories hit Digg’s Front Page, which categories have most Front Page Stories and who are the Most Active Diggers

2. The second site is for statistics too - SocialBlade.com
SocialBlade is website where you can find 50+% of the information which you need! In SocialBlade you can see graphs of popular stories, diggs, comments, the time they are submitted and the time they became popular. SocialBlade is showing you the best time for submitting a story and a lot of more!

3. Improve your digg account DiggStatistics.com
You know that the friends in Digg are maybe one of the most important things, but how you can know who is digging you and who not? Now you can understand who of your friends is digging your submissions and how many he had dugg. This is helping you because you don’t need friends who don’t digg your stories.

DiggStatistics is showing you and if you have “Followers”. That’s are people who are not friends with you, but they still have dugg at least 5 of your last 10 submissions.

4. BiggBoard

This site is “story tracker”.You just have to add your username and you will see your submisisons from the last 24 hours, and the popular stories which you have. You can track your last submissions - you can see in which category they are, on which position and how much time you have to get it on Front Page.

These links and tips maybe will be really helpful for most of diggers. I know that there a lot of diggers which don’t know the things posted above and maybe they will start working better - they will go on NEXT level - they will stop thinking only for them and maybe they will start thinking for other diggers!
